Important announcement regarding Abbeydale Picture House

Due to circumstances outside of YSFF’s control, our 2022 Abbeydale Picture House season is changing.

The Picture House has just learnt that some of the plaster ceiling has faults and may present a safety risk in the future. Events in the main cinema auditorium are temporarily suspended while safety work is carried out.

YSFF’s March and May Abbeydale events will take place on the stage of the Abbeydale Picture House, in a specially-created, intimate cinema space seating 60 people.

This reduced seating capacity means that YSFF cannot offer the usual range of concessionary ticket prices. A limited number of free tickets for 18 and unders are available for the comedies each day - the Laurel and Hardy triple bill, The Navigator, Crazy Men comedy trio and The Freshman. As soon as we return to the main auditorium the full range of concession prices will be reinstated. A very limited number of discounted all-day tickets are available.

The Abbeydale Picture House is one of Sheffield’s most precious cultural assets and it is a privilege to present our music and film events there. Everyone at the Picture House is working hard to ensure that the auditorium can reopen soon.

The March, May, and July YSFF events will be brimming with wonderful shows combining live music and silent film and we hope you’ll join us on the Abbeydale Picture House stage for a memorable, atmospheric experience.
