Pianist Utsav Lal returns

Jazz and raga pianist Utsav Lal has established an international reputation for his spellbinding performances blending ancient tradition with innovation. He’s developed a unique voice as a pianist and performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, such as Washington DC’s Kennedy Centre, New York’s Carnegie Hall, and London’s Southbank Centre.

Utsav made his silent film improvisation debut with YSFF at Showroom Sheffield in 2018 and he now returns to improvise three film accompaniments in May: A Throw of Dice at National Centre for Early Music in York, Shiraz: A Romance of India at Stoller Hall in Manchester, and The Passion of Joan of Arc at Sheffield’s Abbeydale Picture House. All three performances are on sale now.
